The social networking site for business users has partnered with companies including IBM, Research in Motion and most recently Microsoft, to invest in both functionality and scalability of the platform.

In Microsoft Office 2010 users will be able to access the Outlook Social Connector. which integrates business and social networking feeds into your Outlook. LinkedIn is the first networking site to support the Outlook Social Connector and will be available in early 2010.

You can be more effective if you have your professional network close at hand, and you can leverage your online identity in the work you do on a daily basis. The Outlook Social Connector will bring your LinkedIn Professional Network to where you work – right within your e-mail inbox,” said Elliot Shmukler, director, product management at LinkedIn.
